As the Summer season arrives we all think of beaches and cool places and of course mangoes, the people of Hawaii too wait for this season because it brings them the favourite fruit of the season. The locals eagerly await the mango season. The sweet aroma of the juicy fruit fills the air and they become the highlight of all events and farmer’s market throughout the island.
The first mango plants were brought from India and Philippines to Hawaii, and now there are many varieties with their own distinct texture and flavor.The season brings about a strong sense of community, family and sharing and they try out different recipes with this fruit.

It is a tradition in the island to bake and give this tropical and fruit nut bread as a gift .The bread is soft and moist with a fragrance of the sweet fruit , they usually add the macadamia nuts with gives it a perfect crunch to the bread.Most of the families have their own recipes to make this bread and each one claims that theirs is the best.
